Contents
Per 1,000 mL Hydroxyethyl starch (HES 130/0.4) 60 g, Na 154 mEq, Cl 154 mEq, (NaCl 9 g). Osmolarity: 308 mOsm
Indications/Uses
Therapy & prophylaxis of hypovolemia.
Dosage/Direction for Use
10-20 mL infused slowly, keeping the patient under close observation due to possible anaphylactoid reactions. Max: 50 mL/kg/day.
Contraindications
Hyperhydration, renal failure w/ oliguria or anuria. Patients receiving dialysis treatment, severe CHF, hypernatremia or hyperchloremia.
Special Precautions
Severe kidney dysfunction, dehydration, liver disease, bleeding disorders; von Willebrand's disease. Regularly monitor kidney function, fluid & electrolyte balance. Pregnancy & lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Hypersensitivity, mild flu-like symptoms, bradycardia, tachycardia, bronchospasm, noncardiac pulmonary edema, pruritus.
